Nit Andhra Pradesh Faculty Recruitment 2024

Notification 2024 of NIT Andhra Pradesh (AP). The official announcement for the NIT Andhra Assistant Professor Grade II, Associate Professor, and Professor Recruitment 2024 was released on the website of the hiring body.

Application materials are available for faculty positions at the National Institute of Technology Andhra Pradesh, an Institute of National Importance under the Ministry of Education, Government of India. These positions are at the level of Assistant Professor (Grade II, On Contract, Level 10), Assistant Professor (Grade II, On Contract, Level 11), Assistant Professor (Grade I, Level 12), Associate Professor (Level 13A2), and Professor (14A) for Indian nationals who meet the eligibility requirements and have a strong academic background, a dedication to high-quality teaching and research, and a tendency for institutional development in a variety of Engineering

Points to remember:

  1. The candidates must have received at least 6.5 CGPA (on a 10-point scale) or 60% of the possible points in total if the university or institution did not state that the first class was listed in the previous degrees.
  2. The number of positions is provisional, and the Institute retains the right to alter it entirely or in part without providing any explanation.
  3. The non-refundable application cost for general, OBC, and EWS applicants is Rs. 1000 per application. Nonetheless, SC/ST/PWD candidates are exempt from paying an application fee. Additionally, Indian nationals applying overseas must pay an application fee of Rs. 5,000 for each category.
  4. The gateway for online applications opens on September 19, 2024. The online application must submitted by 5:00 PM on October 10, 2024.
  5. Applications that are not submitted in the required format or without the necessary enclosures will rejected outright.
  6. Before the online application deadline of 10.10.2024, candidates must verify their qualification, at the very least, in the form of a provisional PhD certificate.
  7. Following the submission of the application form, no more documents or certificates will accepted.
  8. To hired, people with disabilities (PWD) must present a medical certificate in the format specified by the appropriate medical authorities. Individuals with disabilities that account for at least 40% of the total disability in categories a, b, d, and e will only qualified to benefit from reservations, if any, and other relaxations as permitted by law.
  9. During the shortlisting process, the areas of specialty and the post/level applied for will taken into account, with careful attention paid to the unique requirements of each department. Thus, different departments can have various shortlisting standards, which might change for various positions within the same department. The shortlisting order will as follows.
    i) From IIT/IIM or other reputable universities with a World QS ranking in the top 500, all three degrees (UG, PG, and PhD).
    ii) A minimum of two degrees (UG, PG, or PhD) from respectable universities like IIT or IIM or with a World QS ranking in the top 500.
    iii) Earning a degree (UG, PG, or PhD) from an IIT, IIM, or another respectable university that is ranked within the top 500 globally by the World QS.
    iv) From NITs or other CFTIs (apart from IITs), all three degrees (UG, PG, and PhD).
    v) At least two degrees (bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral) from CFTIs other than IITs or NITs.
    vi) A minimum of one degree (UG, PG, or PhD) from a CFTI (other than an IIT) or an NIT.
    vii) All three degrees (undergrad, graduate, and doctorate) from any state-funded institution, university, or research lab that isn’t included above.
    Note: The degree will counted as two UG/PG/PhD degrees if the candidate completes the program in an integrated manner.
  10. In addition to the aforementioned, the institute retains the right to set a reasonable cap on the number of applicants for interviews based on their qualifications.
  11. Applicants who have earned a PhD from this institute will not taken into consideration or made to a shortlist for recruitment to prevent in-breeding. The application will only taken into consideration and shortlisted five years from the date of the PhD thesis viva voce.
  12. The oversight committee resolution states that prior experience must have come from an institute of repute by Schedule “E” of the NIT Andhra Pradesh Statutes. Only the criteria listed above for an esteemed institute will taken into account for determining eligibility and assigning credit points.
  13. Experience lasting longer than six months in a regular role at a reputable institution or any other business with a salary scale will only taken into account as a whole.
  14. Individuals working for the government, semi-government, PSUs, universities, or educational institutions shall submit their applications via the appropriate channel or provide a certificate of no objection from the appropriate authority when they attend the interview. However, they can submit a copy of the application in advance.
  15. Pay protection is only applicable by the selection committee’s recommendations and the institute’s board of governors’ approval. Without the suggestion of the selection committee and approval from the institute’s board of governors, no pay protection is given.
  16. The candidate has the responsibility for ensuring the accuracy and legitimacy of the data they submit.
  17. The institute’s decision in any recruitment-related matter is final and enforceable against applicants.
  18. 10.10.2024 will the date on which candidates’ complete eligibility will ascertained.
  19. Interview call letters will only delivered by email to each shortlisted candidate after they have selected for further consideration. The Institute website will host the list of short-listed applicants.
  20. The institute maintains the right, at any time and for any cause, to completely or partially cancel the recruitment process.

Requirements:

  • Engineering Departments: Direct PhD with first class in UG or PG for /BTech or equivalent, ME/MTech or equivalent, and PhD in relevant/equivalent discipline with first class in UG/PG will also considered.
  • First-class BSc/MSc degrees combined with a PhD degree in the relevant field or an equivalent degree in Physics, Chemistry, or Mathematics.
  • Management: According to the Association of Indian Universities, an MBA, an equivalent Master’s degree in management, or an equivalent PGDM (2 years) may combined with a PhD in management and any bachelor’s degree (3/4 years) or an integrated Master’s degree in management with a PhD in management.

  • Humanities: PhD in Humanities with integrated master’s degree in a suitable Humanities branch or PhD in Humanities with any bachelor’s degree (3/4 years) and Master’s degree in a suitable Humanities field. It is necessary to have a first-class in the previous degrees.

Mode of Selection for All Posts:

Candidates who have applied and shortlisted for the roles of Professor, Associate Professor, and Assistant Professor (Grades I and II) must (a) demonstrate their teaching abilities through Blackboard Teaching on any core course at the second-year BTech level for Engineering branches and the first year MSc/MA level for Humanities and Sciences. (c) Interview; (b) Research presentation using a PowerPoint. To narrow down the applications, the institute may have candidates submit a video presentation online.

  1. A faculty member who joins the institute will receive a seed grant of Rs. 10 Lakhs.
  2. A yearly travel grant of Rs. 25,000 for research collaboration.
  3. Faculty who get external funding for projects are eligible for a project matching grant of up to Rs. 5 lakhs.
  4. For projects that receive outside funding, the institute will provide 20% of the overhead to the faculty’s Research Development Fund and 20% to the Research Equipment Maintenance Fund, allowing the faculty to maintain the equipment they acquired from the project after it has ended.
  5. Each faculty member granted reimbursable Cumulative Professional Development Allowances (CPDA) of Rs. 3 lakhs for each block period of three years to cover the costs of attending national and international conferences, paying professional society dues, and covering unforeseen expenses.
  6. As per Indian government regulations, every faculty member will covered by the New Pension Scheme (NPS 2004).
